
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She is captain and striker with the San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the most prestigious division of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from 2018 to 2020. [8][98][9] Morgan was chosen as the top pick in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she had graduated from the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional at the club and was instrumental in helping the team win their league championship. Morgan 22, then 22 years old, was the youngest national player to play at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 and finished second. At the 2012 London Olympics she scored the winning goal in the 123rd minute of the semi-final game against Canada. The 2012 season ended with 21 goals, 28 goals, and 28 assists and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score 20 and 20 goals. This made her the 6th-youngest U.S. player ever to hit 20 goals in a season. She was named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, and was a FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan was instrumental in helping the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was selected for the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
